From small town Midwest beginnings to the big-time as an internationally known saxophonist, Grady Nichols enjoys an audience as broad as his musical taste. Nichols recently collaborated with writer/producer and former Nixon’s front man Zac Maloy to craft his latest CD, titled “Take Me With You.” A favorite single from this new CD, “Bellissimo,” has been shipped and is getting airplay across the country on smooth jazz radio. Hot off the success and critical acclaim of his previous CD, “Sophistication,” Nichols has enjoyed great success in the smooth jazz genre. “My influences are so varied and I try to reflect that in my music,” says Nichols.

Nichols picked up his first saxophone in the sixth grade. By high school, he was performing professionally and studying under legendary saxophonist Joe Davis, who had performed with such greats as Sarah Vaughn and Mel Torme. Following college at John Brown University , he moved to Tulsa , quickly establishing himself as the premier jazz artist in a region rich with jazz heritage.

Nichols’ CD “Sophistication” yielded three hit singles—Alright, Tuesday Morning, and Sneak. “Sophistication” made a strong debut on the smoothjazz.com charts and remained there formore than 40 weeks. With five CDs under his belt, Nichols’ future is as bright and promising as his enthusiasm for the music. For moreinformation, visiit www.gradynichols.com.
